♬ Autumn in [Tashkent] ♪♭♩

Even though every season in Uzbekistan is beautiful, my favourite one in Tashkent is autumn. All the trees of the city are turning gold or red, colours which acquire a particular glow thanks to the sun rays continuously provided by the endless blue skies above the country. And sometimes, when I am walking in the streets of the capital of Uzbekistan, the song “Autumn in New York” interpreted by Billie Holiday comes to my mind. So, here, this is a tribute to this song, with an interpretation about the city of Tashkent.

(Chorus)
Autumn in [Tashkent]
Why does it seem so inviting?
Autumn in [Tashkent]
It spells the thrill of first-nighting
Glittering crowds
And [animated sounds]
[The leaves turning ruby];
[They are making me Feel I’m home]

It’s autumn in [Tashkent]
That brings the promise of new love
Autumn in [Tashkent]
Is often mingled with pain
Dreamers with empty hands
May sigh for [far way] lands;
It’s autumn in [Tashkent];
It’s good to live it again

You might also like

(Chorus 2)
Autumn in [Tashkent]
The gleaming rooftops at sundown
Autumn in [Tashkent]
It lifts you up when you’re run down
[Joyful students]
And [merry expats]
Who [lounge at the park]
Will tell you that it’s
Divine

It’s autumn in [Tashkent]
Transforms the [sun] into [gold light]
Autumn in [Tashkent]
You’ll need no castle in Spain
Lovers [staying till] dark
On benches in Central Park
Greet autumn in [Taskent];
It’s good to live it again.

The beauty of Tashkent in autumn is so powerful that it heals the souls of those preoccupied by the sad state of world affairs… Happy autumn everyone!
